On the morning of November 22, Shenzhen Airlines held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Three-Bay Hangar project at its headquarters base. Leaders attending the ceremony included Yang Xinguo, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Central and Southern Regional Administration; Xie Meihua, Deputy Director of the Airworthiness Maintenance Division of the CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration; Lin Xiaolong, Deputy Director of the CAAC Shenzhen Regulatory Bureau; Jia Hua, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Airport Co., Ltd.; Chen Rongguo, Director of the Shenzhen Maintenance Plant of China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd.; Feng Gang, President of Shenzhen Airlines; and Xiao Kunzhou, Vice President of Shenzhen Airlines.
In his speech, Vice President Xiao Kunzhou stated that the Shenzhen Airlines three-bay hangar will primarily support the operations of the Shenzhen Airlines fleet. The project will not only meet the maintenance facility requirements arising from the growth of the Shenzhen Airlines fleet, but will also expand the airline's maintenance capabilities, improve its overall aircraft maintenance layout, and enhance its strategic maintenance development level, providing strong support for Shenzhen Airlines to ensure flight safety and punctuality.
Deputy Director Yang Xinguo expressed high expectations for the new hangar project. He stated that since Shenzhen Airlines returned to state-controlled ownership, the new leadership team, represented by Comrade Feng Gang, has consistently prioritized safety production, continuously strengthened safety investment, comprehensively consolidated the foundation for safe development, and steadily improved safety management standards. The groundbreaking of the Shenzhen Airlines three-bay hangar fully demonstrates the airline management's great emphasis on maintenance infrastructure and is a concrete manifestation of Shenzhen Airlines actively responding to the Civil Aviation "Twelfth Five-Year" Plan and strengthening its independent maintenance capability building. It can be foreseen that the construction of the Shenzhen Airlines three-bay hangar will certainly help elevate the maintenance capabilities of the CAAC Central and Southern Region to a new level in the near future. He expressed the hope that all cadres and employees of Shenzhen Airlines will, as always, focus on ensuring safe development and make positive contributions to the development of China's civil aviation industry.
At the subsequent groundbreaking ceremony, as President Feng Gang announced the official commencement of the three-bay hangar project, warm applause broke out on site. Leaders and employee representatives from the CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration, Shenzhen Airport Co., Ltd., the Shenzhen Maintenance Plant of China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Airlines, and other organizations jointly participated in the groundbreaking and turned the soil.
The Shenzhen Airlines three-bay hangar project is another important measure in safety investment following the completion of the airline's first hangar in 2003. It is of great significance for enhancing aircraft maintenance support capabilities in the CAAC Central and Southern Region, especially in the Shenzhen area, and for consolidating the foundation for Shenzhen Airlines' safe development in the new era. At the same time, the project will effectively address the maintenance facility needs arising from the rapid growth of Shenzhen Airlines' future fleet, increase local employment opportunities, and stimulate regional economic development.
