According to reports, on the morning of March 1, the Ma'anshan Domestic Waste Incineration Power Generation Project officially began construction.
As the city scale expands and the urban population grows, the traditional waste landfill treatment process is very outdated, landfill sites are already saturated, and solving the problem of domestic waste disposal is urgent. Waste incineration power generation has become an effective means of solving this problem. According to reports, waste incineration power generation uses modern science and technology to incinerate domestic waste and uses the generated heat energy for power generation and heating. After incineration, waste can be reduced in weight by more than 80%.
The domestic waste incineration power generation project that began construction this time is located in Dongxian Natural Village, Taocun Mountain, Xiangshan Town, covering an area of about 96 mu, and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2017. The total designed scale of the project is 1,200 tons of domestic waste per day. Among this, the first phase has a scale of 800 tons of domestic waste per day, and the second phase has a scale of 400 tons of domestic waste per day. The first phase of the project will be equipped with one set of 15 MW generating units, and the second phase will add one set of 7.5 MW generating units. After completion, it can produce 120 million kWh of electricity per year, enough to supply the annual household electricity consumption of 30,000 to 50,000 families. The flue gas generated during the waste incineration process will be purified using the combined process technology of “SNCR + semi-dry method + activated carbon injection + bag filter”. After treatment, emission indicators such as flue gas pollutants can reach world-advanced levels, which will effectively promote the city's domestic waste treatment to achieve “reduction, harmlessness, and resource utilization”.
