A total of 1,182 key projects across Hebei Province broke ground in a centralized manner that day, with a total investment of 82.94 billion yuan (RMB).
The on-site meeting for the centralized groundbreaking of Hebei's key projects was held on the 29th, with the main venue in Shijiazhuang. According to Chen Yongjiu, director of the Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, there are 1,182 projects participating in this province-wide centralized groundbreaking activity, with a total investment of 829.4 billion yuan. Among them, 65 are provincial key projects, 395 are municipal key projects, and 722 are county-level key projects.
Chen Yongjiu stated that the projects launched in this centralized groundbreaking have a high industrial level, with strategic emerging industry projects and modern service industry projects accounting for 48% of the total; the owners are strong, with 46 investment projects from central state-owned enterprises and 15 foreign-invested projects; there are many collaborative projects, with 235 projects undertaking Beijing-Tianjin industrial specialization and carrying out technical cooperation with Beijing-Tianjin universities and institutes, accounting for 20% of the total; in addition, they are characterized by large project scale and strong supporting roles.
Hebei Provincial Governor Zhang Qingwei pointed out that key projects are the pillar for "stabilizing growth and promoting development," the booster for "adjusting structure and transforming the mode of development," and the ballast for "expanding employment and improving people's livelihood." In 2015, Hebei's key projects completed an investment of 693 billion yuan, providing strong support for promoting sustained and healthy economic and social development.
