According to a report on the 27th, Hunan will begin construction this year on more than 300 kilometers of expressways, including Longlang (Lianyuan Longtang to Xinhua Langtang), Huaizhi (Huaihua to Zhijiang), Jingli (Huaihua Jingzhou to Guizhou Liping), and the Changyi expansion. Among them, after the Longlang Expressway is completed, driving from Changsha to Huaihua via the Longlang Expressway will save 70 kilometers compared with the route via the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway.
The details of the 4 newly started expressways are as follows:
Longlang Expressway: It starts in Longtang Town, Lianyuan City, and ends in Langtang Town, Xinhua County, connecting the already completed Changsha-Shaoshan-Loudi Expressway and the Xinhua-Xupu Expressway. The main line is about 74 kilometers long, with 14.2 kilometers of connecting lines built simultaneously at Meijiang, Chetianjiang, and Xinhua. It adopts the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour and a total investment of about 7.33 billion yuan. After the project is completed, the route from Changsha to Huaihua via the Changsha-Shaoshan-Loudi Expressway, Xinhua-Xupu Expressway, Xupu-Huaihua Expressway, and Huaihua-Zhijiang Expressway will save 70 kilometers of driving distance compared with the route via the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway and Changsha-Xiangtan West Expressway.
Jingli Expressway: The Jingzhou to Liping (Hunan-Guizhou border) highway is located within Jingzhou Miao and Dong Autonomous County, Huaihua City. It starts in the south of Jingzhou town, builds a new Xinchong interchange, runs southwest, builds a new Jingzhou South interchange where it intersects with G209, follows the G356 corridor, and ends at the boundary marker at the Hunan-Guizhou border, connecting with the Guizhou provincial expressway. The route is about 55.65 kilometers long. It is built to the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
Huaizhi Expressway: The Huaizhi Expressway starts in Zhuxi Village, Yingkou Township, Hecheng District, Huaihua City, intersects with the Jishou-Huaihua Expressway, and ends at Zhupingpu, Zhijiang, on the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway. The route is 33.28 kilometers long. The entire main line is built to the standard of a four-lane expressway, with a subgrade width of 24.5 meters, a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and an estimated cost of 2.91824 billion yuan.
Changyi Expansion Expressway: The newly built Changyi Expressway is 49.468 kilometers long, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour and two-way six lanes. The new Changyi Expressway is basically parallel to the existing Changyi Expressway. The shortest distance between the two expressways is about 5 kilometers, the longest is about 11 kilometers, and the average distance is about 7 to 10 kilometers. After the new Changyi Expressway is completed, this route, together with the Yiyang-Maotang, Maotang-Anhua, and Guanzhuang-Anhua expressways, will form a new corridor connecting the western Hunan region with Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan.
