According to previous public notices, the structure of Jinan's rail transit network is divided into two levels: the urban core express lines (R lines) and the central city ordinary lines (M lines). Compared with the previous plan, the second-round plan adds a loop line. The loop line is a member of the central city ordinary lines and is a backbone line of the central city, connecting passenger flow collection and distribution points such as the old city core area, southern residential areas, CBD, Honglou, Beihu, and Binhe New Area, with a length of about 36.4 kilometers.
