The construction project of Xi'an Jiaotong University Hancheng Basic Education Park recently started. Once completed, the education park will become the first domestic comprehensive basic education boutique park covering multiple fields such as education and training, culture and sports, science and technology environmental protection, and tourism, integrating landscape charm and humanistic feelings at an international first-class level. This move opens a new model of cooperation between universities and local governments and fills the gap in university basic education parks.

　　Expected to be put into use in autumn next year

　　Li Zhiyuan, Mayor of Hancheng, attended the ceremony and announced the start of the project. Xi'an Jiaotong University Hancheng Basic Education Park is located in the Xiaonan District of Hancheng New City, south of Wenxing Road, north of Huayuan Road, east of Hanyuan Road, and west of Panhe Road, with a planned area of more than 910 mu. The project is jointly constructed by Hancheng and Xi'an Jiaotong University, with a total investment of 800 million yuan and a total construction area of more than 400,000 square meters. It is built according to the "four-in-one" setting of kindergarten, primary school, junior high school, and senior high school, and the requirements of high starting point, high standard, high level, and multi-function, and is equipped with related industries.

　　The teaching area of the park has a total of 188 classes planned, which can accommodate more than 10,000 students and children. It is expected to be put into use in the autumn of 2017. In addition, there are also planned industrial supporting areas, sports areas, accommodation supporting areas, and tourist areas. After the project is completed, Hancheng City will strive to provide policy guarantees for the construction of the park and support the school to run independently according to law.

The university will select a large number of outstanding talents to serve as principals and teaching management personnel, organize experts in the field of basic education to provide support for teaching and scientific research development, and guide the development of school characteristic courses, teaching and research practice, teacher training, and school culture construction.

　　Li Zhiyuan said in his speech that the Hancheng Basic Education Park construction project began to discuss cooperation intentions on June 1, and in just half a year, the project funds, land acquisition and demolition, and PPP project cooperation bidding were in place. The project landing and starting is exciting. He said that education carries the future of the nation, and the education park carries the future of Hancheng people. The construction of the basic education park is not only a basic project for Hancheng to build a regional education center and a basic education highland, but also a breakthrough project for Hancheng City to rank among the top 100 in the country and build a regional center.
