Following expert review and on-site acceptance inspection, on January 1, 2016, the first day of the new year, foundation pit excavation began at Gouzhuang Station, Section SG2—22 of Hangzhou Metro Line 2, undertaken by China Railway Seventh Group Co., Ltd., adding a vibrant touch to the festive New Year's Day holiday.
Gouzhuang Station is located at the intersection of Gudun Road and Jindu North Road in Yuhang District, Hangzhou, laid out north-south along Gudun Road as an underground two-level island platform station. The station has a total length of 197.75 meters, a standard section width of 22.7 meters and a depth of 17.6 meters, with four entrances and exits and two groups of ventilation shafts. The station is constructed using the cut-and-cover method (with local covered excavation). Because it is located on a major traffic artery, two traffic diversions were required to ensure earthwork excavation for the station's main structure, adding difficulties to the construction.
To ensure early commencement of the formal works, all project staff united as one and worked hard, actively communicating with the owner and relevant local functional departments. They completed the first and second traffic diversions on July 28 and October 28, 2015 respectively, and worked continuously day and night to complete 80 diaphragm walls, 35 lattice columns, 461 meters of crown beams, more than 100 dewatering wells and end reinforcement at the north and south ends of the station by December 5, meeting the conditions for earthwork excavation of the station's main structure.
After the start of foundation pit earthwork excavation at Gouzhuang Station, the project department will strictly implement the specifications for foundation pit excavation and support erection, strengthen safety control, manage resource allocation well, and advance construction progress in an orderly manner while ensuring safety and quality, so as to ensure the shield machine can break through on schedule.
