The 21st United Nations Climate Change Conference was held in Paris from November 30 to December 11, 2015. Nearly 200 parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change agreed to adopt the Paris Agreement, which will arrange global actions to address climate change after 2020 to ensure strong global emission reduction actions. As a major greenhouse gas emitter, China faces enormous pressure from the international community to reduce emissions, and the construction engineering industry has an unshirkable responsibility.
The compressive stress dispersed hot-melt recyclable anchor cable is a new green construction technology. This anchor cable has several major advantages: 1. Unlike traditional internal bracing, the cement consumption can be greatly reduced; 2. The foundation pit displacement is smaller than that of internal bracing, making it safer; 3. The steel strand can be recycled. Therefore, in large foundation pits, carbon emissions can be reduced by saving cement and steel, achieving energy conservation and emission reduction.
Below, taking the application of recyclable anchor cables and concrete bracing as an example, we compare the savings in two main materials, cement and steel, and simply calculate the carbon emission reduction achieved by applying green construction technology.

Based on the table above, the carbon emissions from the production of saved cement and steel are calculated. The three projects together reduced carbon emissions by 4,285.88 tons and saved costs by 28 million yuan. What does 4,285.88 tons of carbon emissions mean?
To put it this way: it is equivalent to the carbon emissions of 100 1.6L cars driving around the Earth once! If each mu of planted forest can absorb 1.83 tons of carbon dioxide, then 2,342 mu of planted forest would be needed to offset the environmental impact of these carbon dioxide emissions! (This algorithm is from the internet; please forgive any inaccuracies.)
Here we have only calculated the carbon emissions saved from the production of main materials, and the amount is already considerable. What about the saved construction time and operating costs?

After years of practice, the compressive stress dispersed hot-melt recyclable anchor cable technology has completed 104,000 meters of anchor rods in Suzhou and surrounding areas, with a total of 14 foundation pits using this technology, of which 3 foundation pits have an area exceeding 20,000 square meters. If this technology is promoted nationwide, we have made the following statistics:

Currently, taking the Suzhou area as an example, there are no fewer than 20 foundation pits exceeding 20,000 square meters each year that are suitable for the compressive stress dispersed hot-melt recyclable anchor cable technology. If we count only 10 regions nationwide with urban construction similar to Suzhou, carbon emissions can be reduced by 180,822 tons, while saving 2.14 billion yuan in construction costs.
