Recently, Wuhan Xintianyi Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd.'s Bauer BG 38 rotary drilling rig successfully completed the construction of a 2m diameter, 119m deep pile foundation in the SS-3 section of the Shishou Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Hubei. The geological conditions of the project mainly consist of silt, silty soil, and fine sand. The Bauer BG 38 rotary drilling rig can complete the drilling construction of a 119m deep, 2m diameter pile foundation within 22 hours.

　　The total length of the Shishou Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Hubei is 39.7234 kilometers. Its controlling project, the main bridge of the Shishou Yangtze River Bridge, has a total length of 1445 meters and a width of 38.5 meters. The south cable tower is 234 meters high, adopting a tapered inverted Y-shaped design. The pile cap adopts a rounded rectangular integral structure. The foundation consists of 58 bored cast-in-place piles with a diameter of 2.5 meters and a length of 119 meters. The south auxiliary pier is 33.8 meters high, adopting an integral lower part and separated upper part structure. The pile cap adopts an integral structure. The foundation consists of 16 bored cast-in-place piles with a diameter of 2.2 meters and a length of 66 meters. The south transition pier is 28.75 meters high, with two separate piers in the transverse direction. The pile cap adopts an integral structure. The foundation consists of 12 bored cast-in-place piles with a diameter of 2.2 meters and a length of 75 meters.
　　The SS-3 section where the Bauer BG 38 rotary drilling rig is located has a total of 114 piles, all with a diameter of 2 meters. Among them, 18 piles are 119 meters deep, 14 piles are 105 meters deep, and the other piles are all 95 meters deep. The project officially started on November 5. 　　The above picture shows Wuhan Xintianyi Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd. using the Bauer BG 38 rotary drilling rig in 2014 in Shiyan, Hubei, drilling a 73-meter deep, 2.5-meter diameter bridge pile, with 50 meters embedded in 30-50 MPa conglomerate, and the rock drilling efficiency was 3.5-3.9 cubic meters per hour. This Bauer BG 38 entered the site in late April 2014. During 4 consecutive months of round-the-clock construction, it maintained a low failure rate and stable and efficient rock drilling speed, and finally completed the construction of 52 pile foundations for the main pier ahead of schedule on August 24, 2014.
