On December 15, a groundbreaking ceremony for the pile foundation works of the Huaneng Cogeneration Project was held in the Lingang Industrial Zone of Guanyun County, marking the project's official entry into the large-scale on-site construction phase.
The Huaneng Cogeneration Project, together with the Sembcorp (Lianyungang) Water, Everbright Solid Waste Landfill, and Everbright Solid Waste Incineration projects, is among the key environmental infrastructure projects advanced in recent years in the Lingang Industrial Zone of Guanyun County. The project is invested by Huaneng Power International, Inc. and developed by Huaneng Huaiyin Power Plant, with a dynamic total investment of approximately RMB 1.29 billion. It plans to build three 220 t/h high-temperature and high-pressure coal-fired boilers and two 25 MW back-pressure steam turbine generator units. It adopts the highest-parameter 25 MW-class back-pressure units in China, achieving an overall thermal efficiency of up to 90.8%. Once completed, the project will provide centralized heat supply in the Lingang Industrial Zone of Guanyun County, replacing nearly one hundred coal-fired steam boilers, easing the park's environmental pressure and promoting sustainable development.
