On December 16, Huadian's 100MW wind power project in Fenyang, Shanxi Province officially began construction. Invested and built by Huadian Shanxi Energy Co., Ltd., the project has a total installed capacity of 100MW and a total investment of 850 million yuan, and is scheduled to be put into operation for power generation in 2017.
The Huadian 100MW wind power project in Fenyang is a key investment promotion project for Fenyang City to develop high-tech new energy, optimize its economic structure and boost its economic strength. After investigation, demonstration, preliminary wind measurement and approval of various procedures, the project was approved in November this year and listed as a provincial key project for 2016. The wind farm is located in a narrow strip running southwest-northeast along the eastern foot of the Luliang Mountains in the west of Fenyang City, about 20 kilometers long and 5 kilometers wide, at an altitude of 1,100 to 1,800 meters. It is planned to install 50 wind turbine generator units with a hub height of 85 meters and a unit capacity of 2,000 kilowatts. After being put into operation, the wind power project will generate about 276 million kWh of electricity annually, with about 200 million kWh fed into the grid each year and an annual equivalent utilization hours of 1,997 hours. Huadian Shanxi Energy Co., Ltd. was established on September 27, 2009. It is the main entity for the energy industry development and asset management of China Huadian Corporation in the Shanxi region, and is responsible on behalf of the group company for the unified coordination of Huadian affairs in Shanxi.
