黄河路西延隧道工程东接黄河路下穿隧道，西至西站北街，全长约1035.537米。地面辅道东起西站东街，西至西站北街，长约375.24米。西站北街至西站东街段规划红线宽60米，嵩山北路至西干道箱桥段道路规划红线宽65米。
据市规划局相关负责人分析，黄河路通过下穿形式西延至西站路，将有助于解决嵩山北路黄河路和嵩山北路二环支路附近的拥堵问题。
