On November 14, the Wuwei Silk Road Cultural Heritage Expo City project broke ground.

With a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan, the Wuwei Silk Road Cultural Heritage Expo City project is being built by Great Wall Film and Television Culture Enterprise Group. The project plans to create a large-scale cultural center integrating multiple functions such as a filming base, tourist attractions, vacation and leisure, and forums and conferences on the desert and Gobi landscape, forming an original and clustered highland centered on four major cultural and creative tourism industries: film and television, animation, games, and tourism. It will gather a group of film and television, animation, game, and tourism companies and institutions from home and abroad, and cultivate a group of experts and professionals with international vision and technical proficiency. At the same time, the project will introduce international-level super-large amusement rides, install exhibitions of world-famous sculptures and artworks, open a 5D stereoscopic cinema, develop an animation and game-themed commercial district, and build distinctive cultural bars and exotic cafes, making it a major platform for Wuwei City's cultural and creative industry and tourism development. It will also establish film festivals, television festivals, animation festivals, and game festivals with wide influence at home and abroad, hold grand award ceremonies or forums regularly every year, and present the "Wuwei Award" with Gansu characteristics.
