新浪计划将主要的行政办公室、信息技术中心及配套管理设施迁至新的办公楼。按目前计划，新办公楼总建筑面积约10.65万平方米，总建筑成本预计为1.6-1.8亿美元（合9.8亿-11亿人民币），将于施工期间分期支付。
据此前信息，该总部大楼已于2月3日在北京上地中关村软件园2期奠基，占地2.9公顷，预计2015年竣工。
目前，随着科技公司规模不断扩大，除新浪外，百度、联想、搜狐、小米科技等都已经自建大楼，为员工营造宽松舒适的办公环境。
财报显示，截至2012年12月31日，新浪的现金、现金等价物及短期投资总额为7.136亿美元。
