Currently, the intelligent monitoring system project of Zoomlion Construction Hoisting Machinery Company has overcome multiple key technologies and obtained 1 invention patent and 1 software copyright with independent intellectual property rights, with multiple patent technologies under application.

The tower crane intelligent monitoring system project is a research and development project formulated according to the intelligentization needs of tower cranes of Zoomlion Construction Hoisting Machinery Company, aiming to enhance the intelligence level and overall quality of tower cranes and strengthen tower crane safety monitoring. This project is the only pilot project for tower cranes in the "Large Hoisting Machinery Safety Monitoring System" organized by the State Administration of Work Safety. Relevant national ministries will formulate industry standards for hoisting machinery safety monitoring systems based on the pilot situation.

The project results have been successfully applied to the world's largest slewing tower crane D5200 and the world's longest jib tower crane D1250, jointly developed by Zoomlion Construction Hoisting Machinery Company and China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, with stable operation. The ZBS/H6012-6 and ZBS/T6012-6 monitoring systems have completed on-tower trial installation, testing, and verification, and have achieved productization. Currently, the above two monitoring systems have become standard accessories for H6012-6 and T6012-6 tower cranes, respectively, and have begun to be supplied to customers. At the second Global Agent Annual Meeting of the Construction Hoisting Machinery Company held on October 26, 2013, in Shaanxi, the project team exhibited the tower crane intelligent monitoring system, which was recognized by the agents.

The project team focused on cost savings from the early development stage, comparing multiple manufacturers when selecting components and considering cost-effectiveness comprehensively. Previously, each structural mold opening cost up to over 100,000 yuan, so the project team tried to use the same structural parts as previous products in structural design, thereby reducing a large amount of mold opening costs. The products developed by the project have various styles designed to suit different grades of tower cranes, and important components are designed in multiple models to meet different needs of the main machine. For example, displays can be selected in sizes from 5.7 to 10.4 inches, with black-and-white, color, and different resolution LCD screens.

In 2014, on the basis of improving product quality and performance, the tower crane safety monitoring system project will continue to develop new functions and new products for the tower crane intelligent monitoring system, aiming to make the tower crane intelligent monitoring system independently developed by Zoomlion superior in performance and precision to other products on the market, especially striving to reach international advanced levels in indicators such as control precision.
