The Nemesis of Quicksand Layers: Clear Rotary Drilling High-Efficiency Mud Powder

Clear mud powder is based on modified high-molecular polymers, combined with various additives such as wall-protecting agents, anti-seepage agents, and stabilizers. It is a product that has been gradually perfected by drawing on mature foreign mud-making processes in rotary drilling construction and combining them with actual domestic application conditions.
    I. Main Performance:
The slurry formed by Clear mud powder not only has good wall-protecting and anti-collapse effects, but also can adsorb drill cuttings. The thickness of sediment in the hole generally does not exceed 10cm. According to actual conditions, secondary hole cleaning may not be required. The mud body does not contain drill cuttings, and the friction layer on the hole wall thickens, which can effectively improve the friction bearing capacity of the pile. Verified by multiple construction sites, the piles formed using Clear mud powder have reached a 98% rate of Class I piles upon inspection. It is non-toxic, odorless, and harmless to the environment.
    II. Usage Steps and Precautions
    1. It can be directly poured into the hole with sprayed clean water and dissolve quickly to form a slurry with good viscosity, especially suitable for municipal construction sites with limited space.
    2. Add it to the mud pit along with sprayed clean water, circulate it by pumping out and into the mud circulation pump, and then inject it into the hole.
    3. According to local water quality and actual usage conditions, adjust the pH value using an aqueous solution of caustic soda (or soda ash). It is recommended to keep the pH between 8 and 10.
    4. For the last 1-2 drilling strokes to complete the hole, let it stand for about 20 minutes before finishing the hole.
    5. Try not to repair the drill bit during the hole-forming process.
    6. The slurry level must never be lower than 1m below the ground surface, and it is forbidden to use half-hole slurry for hole formation. Because the pressure of half-hole slurry is reduced, the wall-protecting capacity is lowered; at the same time, when pouring concrete, the formation not soaked by slurry is very likely to collapse.
    7. The reinforcement cage must be centered when lowered into the hole to prevent damage to the hole wall.
    8. It must not be mixed with bentonite mud.
    III. Dosage
The proportion of mud powder is prepared at 0.01%-0.1%, depending on the geology and actual conditions of each construction site.

The application of mud powder (chemical mud) in rotary drilling construction was first introduced in China in 2006 at the Weihe River Bridge pile foundation project in Weinan on the Zhengzhou-Xi'an Line. Because of its ease of use, remarkable effect, significant reduction in pile foundation construction risks, and improved construction efficiency, it was rapidly promoted and used throughout the country.
