Recently, the first stop of the large-scale public welfare campaign "China's Good Drivers" was held in Changsha. More than 300 construction machinery operators from the three provinces of Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi gathered at the Central China International Machinery Logistics Park to obtain formal national vocational qualification certificates through training and assessment. While comparing operating skills, the trainee drivers exchanged public welfare experiences and jointly recommended good drivers and good deeds around them, bringing the industry's positive energy to a climax.
"China's Good Drivers" is a large-scale public welfare campaign initiated by Shandong Lingong together with national moral model Guo Mingyi. It is committed to improving the overall quality of practitioners in the construction machinery industry and discovering excellent qualities such as integrity and dedication among grassroots workers, injecting positive energy into society.
The Changsha stop was held just as CCTV's "China's Good Drivers" series of public service advertisements were being broadcast widely. Inspired by "China's Good Drivers," CCTV and Shandong Lingong jointly launched a new set of public welfare initiatives, including a series of public service advertisements such as "Racing Driver," "Expert," and "Engineering Vehicle," calling on the public to raise safety awareness and launching a wave of civilized driving and striving to be "good drivers."
Xiao Li, a young loader operator from Yueyang, said that after learning about the "China's Good Drivers" campaign, he signed up immediately. Attending the event in person, he felt a heavy sense of responsibility. Obtaining the vocational qualification certificate is only the beginning; more importantly, it is about raising safety awareness, developing the habit of standardized operation, and encouraging people around him to drive in a civilized manner. Only in this way can one live up to the title of "China's Good Driver."
In last year's campaign, many outstanding individuals emerged at the Changsha stop, such as Tang Xingyun, the "chief instructor" with students everywhere, and Yi Long, a female driver whose competence rivals that of men. Among them, Tang Xingyun was successfully selected as one of the "Top Ten Good Drivers of the Year." In view of this, Shandong Lingong specially set the first stop of the 2014 "China's Good Drivers" in Changsha. Tang Xingyun also came to the scene and talked about the tremendous impact "China's Good Drivers" has had on his life and career.
Known as China's "Capital of Construction Machinery," Changsha is a fiercely contested battleground for major manufacturers, and the event will have an important impact on surrounding markets and even the entire industry. With the complete success of the Changsha stop of "China's Good Drivers," the campaign will next be rolled out successively in 10 key cities including Zunyi, Xi'an and Taiyuan.
