The National Equipment Industry Work Conference was held from April 2 to 3, where the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) proposed a "three-step" strategy for the development of the equipment manufacturing industry. Vice Minister of MIIT Su Bo emphasized eight tasks, including building the integration of informatization and industrialization. Research institutions analyze that rail transit equipment will enter a period of rapid growth.

 

    Vice Minister Su Bo said at the meeting that by 2025, China's equipment manufacturing industry should enter the second tier of the world's equipment manufacturing powers, with some advantageous industries taking the lead in becoming both large and strong; by 2035, China's equipment manufacturing industry should rank among the front of the second tier in the world, becoming a truly strong equipment manufacturing power; by 2050, China's equipment manufacturing industry should enter the first tier of the world's equipment manufacturing powers, becoming an equipment manufacturing power with global leading influence.

 

    Su Bo emphasized that in this process, there are eight key tasks. First, establish and improve the industrial technology innovation system. Second, actively build a new mechanism for deep integration of informatization and industrialization. Third, strengthen the manufacturing foundation. Fourth, promote quality and brand building. Fifth, implement green manufacturing. Sixth, cultivate a group of globally competitive enterprises. Seventh, accelerate the development of modern manufacturing services. Eighth, promote Chinese equipment "going global."

 

    He pointed out that efforts should be made to achieve major breakthroughs in several key areas, including high-end CNC machine tools, power equipment, industrial robots and intelligent equipment, aviation equipment, ship and marine engineering equipment, advanced rail transit equipment, and energy-saving and new energy vehicles.
