As we all know, winter is cold and temperatures are very low. For concrete mixer trucks commonly used in the construction industry, this is a tough season. Because when temperatures drop sharply, concrete mixer trucks are particularly vulnerable to damage under such conditions, so more attention should be paid to mixer truck maintenance in this season. Below are some maintenance tips summarized by the editor, hoping to be helpful to everyone.

 

　　1. Before starting the mixer truck, a comprehensive inspection must be carried out: whether all components are normal and reliable, whether bolts are tightened, whether operation is flexible, etc.

 

　　2. Lubrication points at all positions should be serviced as indicated; oil filling points must be kept clean.

 

　　3. Check whether the hydraulic and pneumatic system pipelines are sealed firmly, whether there is wear, oil leakage, air leakage, etc., and eliminate such problems in a timely manner.

 

　　4. Components such as hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, and reducers must be maintained in accordance with the product manual.

 

　　5. Regularly check the wear of the mixer truck blades and repair them in a timely manner.

 

　　6. Reducer maintenance: According to different service periods, the reducer should be maintained as follows:

 

　　(1) Oil change: Change the oil after the first 500 hours of use, then every 1,500 hours thereafter. As long as one year has passed, the oil must be changed regardless of how many hours it has worked.

 

　　(2) Oil type: The reducer of this truck is an original imported reducer. The gear oil used is heavy-duty vehicle gear oil GL-5, with a viscosity grade of 85W/140.

 

　　(3) Recommendation: Drain the oil when the oil temperature is about 60°C. After each oil change, check the tightness of the connecting bolts. Check the oil level once a week.

 

　　7. Radiator maintenance for concrete mixer trucks: Under normal circumstances, the radiator filter element should be replaced at fixed intervals—replace the filter element 3 months after the new vehicle is put into use, and then every 6 months thereafter. The filtration precision of the filter element should be the same as that of the original filter element. Check daily whether the radiator fan is running, and clean the radiator fin surface with an air gun every week to ensure normal operation of the radiator.

 

　　8. Maintenance of hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors: The hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors are also original imported parts. The hydraulic oil used is 68# anti-wear hydraulic oil. Generally, replace the hydraulic oil after the first 3 months of use, and thereafter, under normal use, the interval for replacing hydraulic oil must not exceed 12 months. Hydraulic oils of different brands must not be mixed. When replacing with new hydraulic oil, the hydraulic circuit (including hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, oil pipes, pipe joints, and radiator) must be cleaned thoroughly; otherwise, it will cause failures of the hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors and shorten their service life.

 

　　9. Maintenance of mixer truck support rollers: Add grease regularly every 3 months, and oil the surface of the mixer drum support rollers once a day to avoid abnormal wear of the support rollers.

 

　　10. Maintenance of the water supply system: The water supply method of the concrete mixer truck is pneumatic water supply, taking air from the chassis air reservoir. Therefore, the airtightness of its air circuit should be checked frequently to ensure that the chassis air circuit is not affected.

 

　　11. Maintenance of the mixer drum: After each work session, the mixer drum must be cleaned with coarse gravel and clean water, operating according to the discharge method, and all accumulated water in the drum must be drained. At the same time, the cement residue on the outer surface of the mixer drum and around the base should also be washed off. Proper handling and maintenance can extend the service life of the mixer drum.

 

　　12. When the concrete mixer truck is not in use in winter, the accumulated water in the water tank and cleaning pipelines should be drained completely.
