An elderly man was crushed to death while directing his son to reverse. An unbearable lightness of life! After the incident, the son called the police and then took his father's body away from the scene, returning to his hometown in Henan. The tragedy occurred on February 25 in a warehouse of an enterprise in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. The process of Wang reversing and crushing the elderly man to death was captured by surveillance video. At the time, the elderly man was behind the vehicle directing the reversing. Wang, sitting in the cab, had his line of sight blocked and did not see his elderly father's exact position, ultimately crushing him to death.

The tragedies of "son reverses and crushes father to death" and "mother reverses and crushes daughter to death" make us grieve. Are there still few reversing accidents?

On the morning of October 28, 2013, a fatal accident occurred on a construction access road in Linkou Village, Duxun Town, Zhangpu County, Fujian Province. A bulldozer was working on the site when the driver failed to notice a 4-year-old girl behind the vehicle and accidentally knocked her down while reversing. After the accident, on-site personnel immediately called the police and sent the girl to Duxun Health Center for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, the girl died after rescue efforts failed.

One afternoon in May 2013, Wang, as usual, received instructions from the company's dispatcher and drove a crawler bulldozer to a garbage dump next to a construction site in Huangmei Town, Jurong City, to prepare to clear construction waste from the dump. Having driven a bulldozer for less than a year and lacking driving experience, the defendant Wang only paid attention to the front and both sides and did not notice that someone was also collecting recyclables behind. While reversing, the defendant Wang accidentally knocked down and crushed to death the victim Shi, a man in his sixties who was collecting recyclables behind.

At 11:40 on February 12, 2012, a man surnamed Mu was driving an excavator to clear household garbage at the northwest corner of Zhengzhuang Village, Dougou Subdistrict, Shizhong District. While reversing, he failed to observe carefully and knocked down a mother and son riding an electric bike who were coming from behind. The 5-year-old boy's head fell right under the excavator's tracks. Mu could not brake in time and crushed the boy to death on the spot.

At around 5:50 on December 11, 2012, an excavator had an accident on Puguo Road near Taiyuan Fourth People's Hospital. A worker was crushed between the excavator and the wall on the east side of the road and died on the spot. The vehicle was traveling from south to north at the time, and a worker was below directing the excavator driver to reverse. Unexpectedly, he was crushed against the wall and died immediately.

While we grieve and regret, we must also explore how to prevent reversing accidents from happening again.
