After announcing the first batch of candidate enterprises and models for new energy vehicles, Beijing will also build new energy vehicle charging piles on a large scale this year. According to the plan, 1,000 public fast-charging piles will be laid out and built within this year, covering the central urban areas and inner suburbs.
According to relevant personnel from the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, charging facilities for new energy passenger cars are mainly divided into two major categories: private (individual or institutional) and public. Among them, private charging facilities will follow the principles of "one pile per car" and "the pile moves with the car," and new energy passenger car manufacturers or 4S dealerships will be responsible for "full-process organization and management," including organizing users to confirm charging conditions and facility construction, and incorporating this into their after-sales service systems; in terms of procedure, the entire process from user application for installation to acceptance and power connection is required to be completed within 22 working days. To further alleviate the "range anxiety" problem of new energy vehicle users, Beijing will create a charging circle with an average service radius of 5 kilometers in the central urban areas, and gradually build a public-sector charging facility network service system. Unlike private charging piles, which mainly use AC slow charging, public charging piles mainly adopt DC fast charging mode, with half an hour of charging able to support an ordinary new energy vehicle for 100 kilometers of driving range. The reporter learned that site selection for 100 public fast-charging stations in urban areas has been completed, and construction will be launched successively in the near future.
