——In the period ahead, enable about 100 million rural residents to become urban residents, redevelop rundown urban areas and urban villages housing about 100 million people, and guide about 100 million people in the central and western regions to become urbanized locally.
——Increase the number of rural students from poor areas enrolled in key universities by more than 10%, giving more children from farming families the opportunity to receive higher education.
——Expand the pilot comprehensive reform of county-level public hospitals to 1,000 counties, covering 500 million rural residents.
——Adhere unswervingly to the basic state policy of family planning and implement the policy allowing couples to have two children if one of them is an only child.
——Encourage reading among all citizens.
——Ensure that urban and rural residents' incomes grow in step with the economy, so that the broad masses can truly feel the benefits.
——Ensure that everyone in difficulty receives social care and warmth.
——Intensify the construction of government-subsidized housing; this year, start construction on more than 7 million units, including more than 4.7 million units in various rundown areas.
——With the strictest oversight, the harshest penalties, and the most serious accountability, resolutely tackle pollution on the dining table and effectively ensure food safety.
——Declare war on pollution as we do on poverty.
