During this year's Spring Festival travel rush, 3.6 billion passenger trips will be made, equivalent to 1.3 billion Chinese people each traveling 2.8 times. Trains remain the most important choice for people's travel, and high-speed rail is their star representative.

　　By the end of 2013, China's total high-speed rail mileage had exceeded 10,000 kilometers, with 12,000 kilometers under construction, making it the country with the longest operating mileage and the largest scale of construction in the world. The opening of high-speed rail has driven regional economic and trade exchanges, unleashed economic vitality, and become the engine of regional economic development. According to statistics, China's high-speed rail lines already in operation can free up 230 million tons of annual freight capacity. Experts analyze that for every one percentage point increase in the share of railway transport in total social freight volume, 21.2 billion yuan in social logistics costs can be saved.

CSR stated externally that more than 50 countries around the world have contacted the company regarding high-speed rail cooperation, of which more than 20 countries have conducted in-depth communication and exchanges.

　　In 2013, CSR and Thailand jointly established the "China-Thailand High-Speed Rail Research Center" to provide technical support for the high-speed rail lines planned by Thailand. The CRH380A high-speed EMU that appeared in New York's Times Square is a representative product of CSR and has been in safe operation for more than 3.5 million kilometers.
