For Sany International, 2013 was an extraordinary year. Together we overcame various difficulties and challenges and achieved new and remarkable results.

Our product market position was further consolidated. Roadheaders continued to maintain an absolute competitive advantage in the market, support sales grew 34% against the market trend, and mining vehicle sales grew 71.6% against the market trend.

New product R&D achieved major breakthroughs. The company successfully developed complete sets of fully mechanized mining equipment for thin coal seams and has already achieved sales; successfully developed lightweight intelligent supports, raising the support gross margin from -21.98% to 10%; successfully developed and completed the third-generation S-type roadheader and achieved sales of 23 units; successfully developed the world's first non-coal dual-arm high-mining-height roadheader EBS630 and achieved sales to a potash mine in Laos; successfully developed mining vehicles such as the SRT45, SRT95C and SRT55D, laying the foundation for the next stage of development of mining machinery; and achieved a major technological breakthrough in hard-rock tunneling dust removal, with dust removal efficiency reaching 97%.

Product quality continued to improve steadily, and the company won the Liaoning Provincial Governor Quality Award.

Cost control began to show results, and cost-reduction awareness was strengthened. Special cost-reduction work organized and carried out for key items such as heating, cutting tools, freight, packaging, fuel and waste materials achieved results, among which cutting tool consumption fell by three-quarters compared with the previous year; in 2013, actual five-item expenses (management, R&D, selling, finance and manufacturing) decreased by 175 million yuan compared with the same period of the previous year.

A new year opens new hope, and a new journey carries new dreams. In 2014, after the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, the Chinese economy will enter a brand-new stage of development. Facing opportunities and challenges, all Sany people will rouse their spirits, face challenges directly, firm up their convictions, forge ahead courageously, jointly create a better future for Sany's cause, and jointly realize the industrial ideal of building a world-class brand for the Chinese nation.
