Wendeng to Invest Another 150 Million Yuan in Municipal Projects Including Road Renovation

On January 19, reporters learned from the Wendeng Municipal Administration that this year's urban municipal engineering construction plan has been finalized. Wendeng will raise 150 million yuan through government investment and market-based operations to implement projects such as road renovation, bridge and culvert construction and renovation, and ecological treatment, further enhancing citizens' happiness index.

　　In the past two years, Wendeng City has accelerated municipal engineering construction such as urban road renovation and drainage network renovation. Among them, in 2012, more than 50 million yuan was invested to renovate major roads and implement separate rain and sewage systems on these sections; last year, a cumulative investment of over 100 million yuan was made to launch 19 urban municipal facility renovation projects, including newly built and renovated roads, road resurfacing, drainage, bridge renovation, road lighting, and ecological treatment, effectively solving problems such as bumpy roads, poor drainage, and non-functioning streetlights on some sections.

　　This year's municipal engineering will still focus on urban road renovation and upgrading and ecological treatment projects. Key projects include newly building Longshan South Road (from Huanshan Road to Mishan Road) to reduce traffic congestion connecting Mishan Road and Huanshan Road; reconstructing three roads including Xiangshui Road (from Kunyu Road to Century Avenue) and Kunyu Road (from Fengshan Road to Xiushan Road); medium repair of two roads, Longshan Road and Xiushan Road (from Pozi Bridge to Hushan Road); newly building Dengyun Road Bridge; and reinforcing Baolong Bridge on Wenchang Road. To further improve the urban ecological environment, Wendeng will continue to improve five major ecological treatment projects, including the sewage pipeline network renovation project in the Baolong River area, the main sewage pipeline network of Duying River, and the sewage pipeline network renovation in the Hebu Village area.

　　A responsible person from the Municipal Administration stated that this year's infrastructure construction will continue to adhere to high-standard design and high-specification construction, in accordance with modern urban living standards, with the goal of improving urban quality and perfecting urban functions. Personnel and machinery will be scientifically dispatched to ensure projects are advanced in stages, implemented orderly, and operated efficiently, making the city more beautiful.
