(Zoomlion), whose 400- and 500-ton truck cranes have achieved mass-production capability and whose 2,000-ton truck crane has successfully completed trial operation; Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., which has developed concrete pump trucks with boom lengths of 72 and 86 m. As leading construction machinery enterprises represented by XCMG, Zoomlion, and Sany Heavy Industry continue to innovate and upgrade their products, they have placed higher demands on the strength grade and quality consistency of steel materials.

    Against the backdrop of rapid development in the construction machinery industry, in 2010, with the commissioning of the imported heavy-duty leveling unit at Shougang Qiangang Company, Shougang acquired the equipment capability to produce leveled plates of 700 MPa yield-strength-grade high-strength steel for construction machinery and subsequently initiated certification work with Zoomlion. In response to Zoomlion's technical supply requirements for SQ700MCD, and relying on Qiangang Company's 2250 and 1580 hot-rolling production lines and heavy-duty leveling unit, a rational composition system and production process were designed, and SQ700MCD high-strength steel for construction machinery with good ductility, toughness, and weldability was developed, achieving stable batch supply to Zoomlion.
