Overall Good Trend

First, production maintained rapid growth. In the first three quarters, the province's equipment industry completed an industrial added value of 207.033 billion yuan, accounting for 33.7% of the province's industrial added value, ranking third in the central region in total volume; a year-on-year increase of 16.7%, 3 percentage points faster than the province's average industrial growth, 7 percentage points faster than the national equipment industry, and the second fastest growth rate in the central region. It is estimated that the equipment industry will complete an industrial added value of 276 billion yuan for the whole year, an increase of about 16.5%.

Second, major industries operated well. In the first three quarters, 8 of the 9 equipment industry sectors maintained growth, of which 4 sectors had added value growth exceeding 15%: computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing (40.3%), general equipment manufacturing (20.7%), metal products (18.7%), and special equipment manufacturing (15.2%).

Third, production of key products was stable. In the first three quarters, the province produced 771,000 vehicles, down 4.7%; produced 29.79 million kVA of transformers, up 7.1%; produced 16,000 small tractors, up 22.1%; produced 54,666 metal-cutting machine tools, up 9.3%; and produced 2 million kilometers of power cables, down 2.5%.

Fourth, key enterprises had good production and operation conditions. In the first three quarters, JAC Motors' total industrial output value was 34.28 billion yuan, up 6.2%, and sales of vehicles were 381,500, up 15.6%; Chery Automobile's total industrial output value was 20.99 billion yuan, down 18.4%, and sales of vehicles were 337,000; Changhe Automobile's total industrial output value was 590 million yuan, down 35.1%, and sales of vehicles were 21,000, down 59.6%; Hualing Automobile's total industrial output value was 3.77 billion yuan, up 41%, and sales of heavy trucks were 18,124, up 55%; Anqing Huanxin Group's total industrial output value was 1.71 billion yuan, up 20.4%; Wannan Electric Motor Company's total industrial output value was 1.06 billion yuan, up 15.2%; Anhui Heli Co., Ltd. produced 25,040 forklifts; Hefei Forging Group produced 180 metal forming machines.

Completion of Key Work

Under the correct leadership of the Party Group of the Anhui Provincial Economic and Information Commission, the Equipment Division of the Commission planned ahead and took proactive actions, adopting a series of effective measures and focusing on the following aspects of work.

Striving for national major science and technology projects. First, actively striving for the high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment project. Assisted JAC Motors in applying to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the 2014 high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment project for the topic "Technology and Equipment for Hydroforming of Large Aluminum Alloy Automotive Panels," which was approved. Second, actively striving for the national intelligent manufacturing equipment project. After joint review with the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Department of Finance, a total of 5 projects from enterprises such as Anhui Forklift Group, Anhui Juyi Automation Equipment Co., Ltd., Hefei Forging, Anhui Effort Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., and Tongling Tianqi Lantian Machinery Co., Ltd. were applied to the state, with a total investment of 560 million yuan and a proposed national subsidy of 157 million yuan. The projects are currently in the expert review stage.

Promoting the development of energy-saving and new energy vehicles.

Promoting the development of intelligent manufacturing equipment. First, the Anhui Provincial Economic and Information Commission will jointly build the Wuhu Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Industrial Park with Wuhu City. Second, implement demonstration projects of intelligent equipment represented by industrial robots, and hold a provincial on-site meeting on the demonstration and promotion of industrial robots in Wuhu City on October 18. Targeting key areas and facing the development needs of industries such as automobiles, home appliances, construction machinery, and shipbuilding, with demonstration applications as the guide, drive the application of industrial robots in enterprise production.

Advancing the development of major technical equipment. First, promote key enterprises to develop major technical equipment, and complete the compilation of this year's provincial first-set major technical equipment development guide plan, with a total of 202 projects arranged and a total investment of 2.38 billion yuan. Second, make full and good use of Anhui Province's first-set major technical equipment policy. According to relevant regulations and procedures, 46 major technical equipment were recognized as Anhui Province's first-set major technical equipment. These first-set equipment can bring enterprises an additional 3.05 billion yuan in sales revenue, 480 million yuan in profits, and 230 million yuan in taxes each year.

Vigorously promote cooperation between the Export-Import Bank and equipment enterprises. According to the requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, organize enterprises to apply to the state for key projects of major technical equipment in 2013, and strive for loan support from the Export-Import Bank of China. After review by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 11 projects in Anhui Province with a total investment of 5.47 billion yuan were included in the 2013 National Key Projects Recommendation Catalog for Major Technical Equipment. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recommended these 11 projects to the Export-Import Bank of China to strive for 2 billion yuan in preferential loan support.

Determining Next Year's Goals

For the whole of next year, strive for the province's equipment industry to achieve an added value of 317 billion yuan, accounting for 33% of the province's industrial added value, a year-on-year increase of more than 15%.

It is understood that Anhui Province's equipment industry will continue to thoroughly implement the Scientific Outlook on Development, with expanding total volume and transformation and upgrading as the main line, highlighting the deep integration of informatization and industrialization in the equipment industry, focusing on energy-saving and new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing equipment, and major technical equipment, strengthening independent innovation, deeply advancing the industrialization of high-tech, actively promoting the development of the energy-saving and new energy vehicle industry, cultivating intelligent manufacturing equipment represented by industrial robots and high-end CNC machine tools, developing major technical equipment and key basic components industries, and promoting the development of Anhui's equipment products toward CNC, high-end, and intelligent directions.

Will promote the intelligentization of equipment manufacturing production processes and manufacturing techniques. Carry out advanced manufacturing innovation pilots, develop intelligent manufacturing methods characterized by human-machine intelligent interaction and flexible agile production, focus on establishing industrial robot parks in Hefei, Wuhu, Ma'anshan and other cities, and promote the large-scale application of industrial robots in key production lines.

Will also build digital workshops in key industry enterprises. Establish a batch of digital workshop pilot demonstrations and recognize a batch of demonstration enterprises.

In the future, efforts will be made to strive for national special projects to improve the core competitiveness of enterprises. Support Anhui's automobile enterprise groups such as JAC, Chery, and Ankai to undertake national new energy vehicle industry technology innovation projects; support key enterprises such as Hefei Forging, Wuhu Hengsheng Machine Tool, Wuhu Chery Equipment, Anhui Forklift Group, and Anhui Juyi Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. to undertake national major science and technology projects for high-end CNC machine tools and intelligent manufacturing.
