As one of the control projects of the Chengdu-Guiyang Railway, the Jinsha River road-railway bridge is crucial for Yibin City. Yesterday, at the centralized commencement ceremony for Yibin's fourth-quarter projects, its mysterious veil began to be lifted: with a total length of 1,874.9 meters, it is China's first road-railway bridge with the "road below and railway above," and its main arch spans almost the entire Jinsha River. After the four-year construction period, it will become another "landmark building" in Cuiping District.
Spanning the Jinsha River, Main Arch Span Reaches 336 Meters
Yesterday in Cuiping District, the sun was shining warmly. At the construction site of the Jinsha River road-railway bridge project near Gaozhuang Bridge (a local place name) in Cuiping District, the centralized commencement ceremony for Yibin's fourth-quarter projects was held. At the ceremony, the Jinsha River road-railway bridge undoubtedly attracted the most attention.
It is understood that the Jinsha River road-railway bridge starts at Lizilin Group, Gaoqiao Village, Xijiao, Cuiping District, and ends at Dashi pan Group, Jinjiang Village, with a total length of 1,874.90 meters. "The main bridge has five continuous arches and six piers. The main arch span reaches 336 meters, almost spanning the Jinsha River." According to the relevant person in charge of the project construction party, the main bridge adopts a tied-arch bridge with fixed arch-pier connections and combined arch-beam action, and both the arch and beam are entirely made of steel structures.
China's First with "Railway Above, Road Below"
The most distinctive feature of this road-railway bridge is undoubtedly the design of "railway above, road below." "This is the first in China," said the aforementioned person in charge. The bridge consists of three parts: the combined road-railway section, the separate railway section, and the separate road section. Among them, the combined road-railway section is 1,213 meters long, and the separate railway section is 661.9 meters long. The entire construction period is about four years. Wang Yuenian, the project manager, stated that the construction of the bridge will not affect navigation on the Yangtze River channel. "We will certainly guarantee this (normal navigation)."

Chengdu-Guiyang Railway (Yibin Section) to Have 5 Stations
The Chengdu-Guiyang Railway is an important railway trunk line for Yibin's future development. The line within Yibin territory is about 179.6 kilometers long, with an estimated investment of about 25.5 billion yuan, passing through 7 districts and counties of Yibin City. According to reports, the Chengdu-Guiyang Railway has a total of 5 stations in Yibin: Yibin East, Pingshan, Changning, Xingwen Shihai, and Nixi.
