Fuzhou, Fujian: First Large Hoisting Machinery Safety Supervision System in Operation

    Installing a safety monitoring and management system on large cranes is an advanced technical measure that uses IoT technology to ensure the safe use of large hoisting machinery, and is an important pilot program deployed this year by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the State Administration of Work Safety. On December 5, staff from the provincial, municipal and county quality supervision departments went to Fujian Shuikou Power Generation Group Co., Ltd. to guide the development and installation of a safety monitoring and management system for a gantry crane. With a rated lifting capacity of 320 t, this gantry crane is the first crane in the province to be equipped with a crane safety monitoring and management system. On site, the provincial, municipal and county quality supervision personnel verified and provided guidance on the safety monitoring and management system installed on the crane, and put forward some reasonable suggestions for improvement.
