Interlocking Kelly bar: The external key of each Kelly bar section is not a complete straight plate along the full length of the bar, but has three to four pressure points. This type of Kelly bar can transmit greater axial force. Therefore, drilling can be completed under harder geological conditions.
The interlocking Kelly bar can drill through silt layers, soil, (mud) sand layers, gravel (boulder) layers, and strongly weathered rock layers, and is generally made in 2, 3, 4, or 5 sections. The drilling depth can reach about 90 meters.
