Things You Didn't Know About Bailey Panels
The development of the transportation industry is a way for our modern society's economy to grow, especially the development of bridge construction. Traditional bridge construction makes it difficult to realize projects like today's cross-river bridges. Bailey panels were applied long ago, and nowadays their achievements in bridge construction are numerous. Today, let's learn about some knowledge regarding Bailey panels.

The chord of a Bailey panel is composed of two 10# channel steels. On the lower chord, multiple steel plates with round holes are welded. Both the upper and lower chords have bolt holes for connecting reinforcing chords and double-layer trusses. The Bailey panel also has four bolt holes in the upper chord for connecting support frames, while the two holes in the middle are for connecting double-row or multi-row trusses at the same bay. Carefully inspecting each component of the steel bridge is essential during maintenance, including checking whether any parts have paint peeling, corrosion, or deformation. Check the integrity of the bridge deck for deformation or unevenness. The easy replacement feature of Bailey panels plays a role here; in such cases, timely replacement is necessary. Bailey panel manufacturers understand that this equipment is used in many industries in our lives, including highway, railway, building, and water conservancy construction projects.

For the removal of Bailey panels, it is best to disconnect them at mid-span, knock out the pins, and then remove each group of Bailey panels sequentially using a crane. If disconnection and removal are not possible, two cranes can be used to hoist and remove the entire group of Bailey panels. For Bailey panels that cannot be directly hoisted and removed by crane, use chain hoists to pull them out synchronously, and then hoist and remove them. 6. For the removal of H-beams, use gas welding to disconnect the connection between the I-beam and the steel pipe column, and use a 25t crane for two-point lifting of the I-beam. The lifting points must ensure that the I-beam can be hoisted in balance. 7. Removal of bracing system and steel pipe columns: Use an excavator in cooperation with manual cutting to disconnect the connection with the steel pipe and remove the bracing system; cut off the steel pipe column from the foundation embedded steel plate and remove the steel pipe column. IX. Quality Assurance Measures 1. Conduct re-survey of traverse control points, structure positioning stakes, and benchmark points to ensure the accuracy of construction layout. 2. Steel columns entering the site must be sampled and inspected for straightness and corrosion; those with dents, bends, or severe corrosion must not be used. The thickness of steel pipes must not be less than 8mm. Steel pipes with insufficient thickness must not be used. 3. During the erection of steel column piles, strictly control verticality. During welding, ensure full welds and use four 10*20*10 thick steel plates for welding. 4. When welding H-beams to steel columns, ensure the surface of the I-beam is flat so that it contacts the Bailey frame tightly.

?How to operate Bailey panels in three-row double-layer configuration
For three-row double-layer Bailey panels, each end vertical member of the upper chord of the truss should use... The seventh unit of the bridge is designed as a variable cross-section continuous box girder. Piers 24# and 25# on the left span are the main piers, and the Bailey panel design; piers 23# and 24# on the right span are the main piers. The span combination is 40m+60m+40m respectively. Segment 0 is planned to be constructed using the bowl-scaffold + Bailey panel support method. The Bailey panel dimensions: the length of block 0 is 12m in total, and the cross-section is divided into two parts. One part is the pier top section, with a length of 3m and a beam height of 3.8m; the other part
