Construction Case: Giant Shows Its Might! "World's No.1 Crane" Lifts the World's Largest Scrubbing Tower
Recently, at the EO/EG unit site of the Gulei Refining and Chemical Integration Project, XCMG's 4,000-tonne crawler crane XGC88000 hoisted the upper section of the world's largest kiloton-class EO/EG scrubbing tower high into the air. At a height of 50 meters, the upper and lower sections of the tower were perfectly joined and welded, continuing the lifting legend of the "World's No.1 Crane".

Difficulty Level Fully Upgraded, "National Treasure" Unafraid of Challenges
It is reported that this scrubbing tower is one of the core equipment of the EOEG (ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol) unit, with a diameter of about 9 meters, a total height of 102 meters, and a total weight of about 2,000 tons. Its super-large diameter and overweight tonnage are both the highest among similar process scrubbing towers in the world. Erecting such a "big guy" is indeed not easy. Due to the extremely high difficulty of lifting the entire tower, the tower body was cut into upper and lower sections at the factory, and assembled on the project site by hoisting the lower section into place and then welding the upper section in the air.

Kiloton-class Strong Alliance, Main and Auxiliary Cranes Work Together
At the beginning of last month, the first step of hoisting the tower body of the EOEG unit scrubbing tower was successfully completed. XCMG's 4,000-tonne crawler crane XGC88000, as the main crane, cooperated with a kiloton-class tailing crane. After 4 hours, the lower section of the tower body was successfully lifted smoothly and accurately placed on the installation base, completing the hoisting of the lower section of the scrubbing tower.
