On the morning of May 10, with the issuance of a drilling order and the roar of drilling rigs, the post-construction works of the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway entered the full construction phase.

The Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway has a total length of 137.8 kilometers and is a double-track high-speed railway with a design operating speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The line includes 50 bridges totaling 81.8 kilometers and 33 tunnels totaling 41.4 kilometers; the line has six stations: Huzhou (junction station), Deqing, Hangzhou West, Fuyang West, Tonglu East, and Tonglu (junction station). The estimated project investment is 37.4 billion yuan.

Railway post-construction works are the key link in the "last mile" of railway construction and are directly related to the safety of train operations and passengers' travel experience after the railway is completed. The post-construction works of the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway mainly include the "four electrics" — communication, signaling, traction power supply, and electric power supply systems — as well as post-construction production and living buildings. These works are characterized by high technical content, strict standards, difficult precision control, numerous cross-interfaces, and complex construction organization.

Among them, iron towers are an important carrier for railway wireless communication antennas. By installing antennas on the towers to cover the wireless signals of sections and stations, wireless communication transmission is achieved. The Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway requires the construction of 6 new traction substations and power distribution substations (power + catenary), 4,472 catenary masts, 280 track-kilometers of catenary, 898 track-kilometers of communication optical cable, 596 track-kilometers of high- and low-voltage lines, and 50 communication iron towers.

One of the station building projects of the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway, the Fuyang West Station Building, is located in Xiyou Village, Fuyang District. It is a side-platform lower-type station building with a total floor area of 38,797 square meters, including 19,988 square meters for the main station building and 18,809 square meters for the elevated-floor garage. Pile foundation construction for the main station building is currently in full swing.

As a national key project and a key supporting project for the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Huzhou-Hangzhou Railway is the first high-speed railway led by Zhejiang Province, with investment led by Zhejiang Communications Investment Group. As of now, the project has completed a cumulative investment of 18.8 billion yuan, accounting for 50% of the total investment. The cumulative progress of subgrade works is 75.6%, bridge works 76%, and tunnel works 94%. The entire line's civil works are expected to be completed in December this year, ready for track laying, and the railway is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic before the 2022 Asian Games.
