Nanjing and Yangzhou will soon be connected by rail transit. The first environmental impact assessment public notice for the Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity Rail Transit Project was recently issued. The line starts in Nanjing's Zidong area and ends at Yangzhou Railway Station, with a total length of 64.29 kilometers.

　　The reporter learned that in July last year, the 2020 Nanjing-Zhenjiang-Yangzhou Party and Government Joint Meeting was held in Nanjing, where a supplementary agreement on the joint construction of the Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity line was signed, and the Nanjing-Yangzhou rail transit project was officially approved. This is also Jiangsu's first cross-river intercity rail line.

　　According to the environmental impact assessment public notice text for the Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity Rail line, the line starts at Dongliu Station in the core area of Nanjing's Zidong area, passes through Nanjing's Xianlin Sub-city and Longtan New Town, Yizheng urban area, Yizheng Development Zone, Puxi Town, Chahe Town, and Yangzhou urban area in Yangzhou City, and ends at Yangzhou Railway Station. The Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity line connects with the rail transit networks of Nanjing and Yangzhou. At the starting station, Dongliu Station, it will interchange with the existing Nanjing Metro Line 4 and the planned extension of the S3 Line; at Xianlinhu Station, it will interchange with the existing Nanjing Metro Line 4 and the planned east extension of Line 2; at Qixia Station, it will interchange with the planned extension of Line 6 and interconnect with the planned Nanjing-Zhenjiang Intercity line; at Chahe Station, it will interchange with the planned Yangzhou Rail Transit Line 2; and at Yangzhou West Station, it will interchange with the planned Yangzhou Rail Transit Line 1.

　　The environmental impact assessment text discloses that the Nanjing-Yangzhou Intercity line has a total length of 64.29 kilometers, including 30.66 kilometers of underground line, 30.58 kilometers of elevated line, and 3.05 kilometers of at-grade line. After the line is completed, rail transit between Nanjing and Yangzhou will achieve seamless connection, with travel time within one hour.
