As the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays approach, the project department of China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group has made advance arrangements for the main-line tunnel works of the Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge (Xiamen section), with 400 builders staying at the front line and working around the clock.
Phase II of the main tunnel line is a controlling core project for the entire route. Located in a coastal area with complex geology, the site has limited working space and imposes strict construction precision requirements; all processes are closely interlinked, and any delay in a single link will affect overall progress. Seizing the window period before the holidays, the project department increased on-site construction personnel from more than 200 to 400, implemented 24-hour shift rotation, and refined job responsibilities to ensure simultaneous and efficient work across multiple work faces.
In response to the difficulties in constructing the Phase III retaining structure, the project department optimized the construction process, overcame pile-forming challenges and strictly controlled precision. To date, Phase III has completed more than 160 bored cast-in-place piles and high-pressure jet grouting piles, laying the foundation for subsequent deep foundation pit operations for the tunnel. The focus of the pre-holiday push is to accelerate the schedule, advance key processes and reserve a buffer period, steadily advancing the Phase II main structure through continuous day-and-night construction to avoid the risks of schedule delays and process conflicts.
