On August 5, with the smooth entry of the final batch of concrete into the hole, the pouring of the first pile foundation at the newly built Shenzhen Xili Station was completed. This marks the project's official entry into a new stage of underground structure construction. As of now, the foundation pit retaining structure of the Shenzhen Xili Station building has been basically completed, and earthwork excavation has accumulated approximately 5.1 million cubic meters, accounting for 92% of the total.

The newly built Shenzhen Xili Station is located in the north-central part of Nanshan District, Shenzhen, covering an area of approximately 189 hectares with a total construction area of 914,400 square meters. Its core construction content is "one station, multiple yards, one platform," including a 13-platform, 25-track main station yard, east and west station-front plazas, an integrated transfer platform above the station, and a supporting rolling stock depot, along with synchronized construction of rail transit, municipal, commercial, and other related facilities.
The project adopts the design concept of "Leading the Bay Area with the Tide, a Bond for Win-Win," and is China's first green ecological park built above a high-speed railway, as well as a national-level TOD demonstration project for station-city integration. Once completed, it will form a multi-level, three-dimensional rail transit network of "4 high-speed railways + 2 intercity railways + 4 subways," capable of diverting more than one-third of Shenzhen North Station's long-distance passenger flow and driving an overall capacity increase of approximately 40% for Shenzhen's railway passenger transport, achieving "one-hour connectivity" among Bay Area cities. It is of far-reaching significance for improving the comprehensive transportation framework of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and empowering high-quality regional development.
The project is located in a coastal area with a long rainy season and frequent typhoons, and is adjacent to existing subway lines, resulting in complex construction conditions and difficult site management. Under the overall organization of Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway Guangdong Co., Ltd., all participating units overcame difficulties, accurately assessed the impact of severe weather, prepared special construction safeguard plans in advance, dynamically optimized construction organization schedules, and stocked sufficient emergency supplies for typhoon and flood prevention and rain and wind protection, building an all-round safety barrier for construction and efficiently advancing operations, achieving the excellent results of zero safety hazards, zero quality defects, and better-than-expected progress in the first pile pouring.
This first pile milestone is also the first major milestone achievement since the full launch of the labor competition themed "Smart Xili Hub, Crafting a Monument of the Era," fully demonstrating the construction team's pragmatic work style of "battle upon entry, sprint from the start." It is a vivid reflection of the project's use of competition to drive progress and excellence, achieving a high-quality start and high-standard beginning. This labor competition was included in the Guangdong Provincial Key Project Competition Database by the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions in 2025, runs throughout the entire project construction process, and will continue to amplify its driving effect.
