In the early days of summer, construction is in full swing. Over the past days, our county's provincial key road project—the National Highway G228 Lianjiang Pukou Guanling to Guantou Dongbian Section Highway Project—has seized the golden construction period and fully set off a construction boom. Among them, the two under-construction bid sections, the Pukou Songwu to Xiao'ao Henglun Section and the Xiao'ao Dao'ao to Guantou Xiaqi Section, are steadily accelerating construction, laying a solid foundation for the full opening of the Lianjiang section of National Highway G228.

On May 19, at the construction site of the Pukou Songwu to Xiao'ao Henglun Section project, large machinery roared, and construction workers carried out their respective duties—welding steel pipes, erecting construction trestles, and advancing bridge foundation construction—presenting a bustling scene of construction everywhere.

According to reports, the Pukou Songwu to Xiao'ao Henglun Section has a total route length of 8.445 kilometers. It starts at the starting point of the Aojiangkou Grand Bridge, passes through Baisheng Seawall, Niutoushan, and the Seaside Road of Xiao'ao Town, and ends by connecting with the already-opened National Highway G228 Xiao'ao Henglun to Chiwan Section. Mainline bridges include the Aojiangkou Grand Bridge, Baisheng Grand Bridge, and Xiao'ao Medium Bridge. Among them, the Aojiangkou Grand Bridge, one of the controlling projects of the entire line, has a total length of 1,763.5 meters and adopts a construction method of simultaneous construction on both the north and south banks. Construction is currently progressing smoothly.

"At present, the onshore pile foundations have been basically completed, the steel trestle on the north bank has been erected to the main pier position, and the steel trestle on the south bank will begin erection in the coming days and is expected to reach the main pier work face by June 15," introduced Lin Yuqing, deputy general manager of Fujian Jintong Construction Group Co., Ltd.At this stage, more than 200 construction workers have been deployed. Seizing the recent sunny weather, the project has committed sufficient manpower and machinery, working overtime to advance bridge foundation and trestle construction, strictly controlling construction safety and engineering quality, and ensuring that all construction tasks are completed on schedule.

At the same time, the Xiao'ao Dao'ao to Guantou Xiaqi Sectionis also under vigorous construction. This section has a total length of 4.462 kilometers, starting in Dao'ao Village, Xiao'ao Town, and ending by connecting with the National Highway G228 Lianjiang Xiaqi to Dongbian Section. At present, roadbed and bridge construction are in full swing. For the bid section's controlling project, the Ding'an Grand Bridge, onshore pile foundation construction has been basically completed, and the construction team is stepping up the erection of the offshore steel trestle and carrying out offshore pile foundation operations in an orderly manner.

"At present, the construction of National Highway G228 within Lianjiang County is progressing steadily. The Songwu to Henglun Section and the Dao'ao to Xiaqi Section are expected to achieve overall completion by December 2027," introduced Liu Bifeng, manager of the Third Engineering Management Department of Lianjiang City Investment Group.
