As a key component of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network's Yangtze River corridor, more than 13,000 builders across the entire Yichang–Fuling high-speed railway line were all on duty during the holiday, working alongside large machinery to carry out construction operations, and the project has fully entered the stage of concentrated efforts on main structure construction.

At the construction site of the 847.9-meter-long Longhe Grand Bridge undertaken by China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group, construction workers are carrying out pier shaft construction, and the pile foundation works are nearly 50% complete.

Meanwhile, the Xinfangdoushan Tunnel, a controlling project of the entire Yichang–Fuling high-speed railway line undertaken by China Railway No. 11 Engineering Group, is under uninterrupted round-the-clock construction. The Xinfangdoushan Tunnel has a total length of 10,660 meters; currently the main tunnel has been driven 400 meters, the parallel pilot tunnel 1,120 meters, and the cross adit 750 meters. The tunnel adopts fully mechanized supporting operations across all processes. Compared with traditional manual operations, mechanized construction effectively reduces safety risks for workers and greatly improves construction efficiency.

The Shazizhen Tunnel of the Yichang–Fuling high-speed railway undertaken by China Railway No. 14 Engineering Group has complex geological conditions and weak surrounding rock stability, making construction control extremely difficult. The construction unit scientifically allocates personnel and equipment, optimizes the construction organization plan, implements uninterrupted round-the-clock cyclic construction, and seizes the golden window period for tunnel excavation.
