On December 25, 2025, trial pile construction for the new Quanzhou Overseas Chinese History Museum project officially commenced, marking the entry of this major landmark project—which embodies the deep attachment of Chinese at home and abroad to their hometown—into the substantive construction phase. The trial pile construction strictly follows relevant regulations and aims to provide a scientific basis for the design and construction of the pile foundation works through trial piling and static load tests for compressive and uplift resistance, thereby ensuring the quality and safety of subsequent project construction.

The new Quanzhou Overseas Chinese History Museum project is a key provincial and municipal construction project. It is located on the west side of the China Museum for Fujian-Taiwan Kinship and on the east side of the Quanzhou Museum, enjoying a superior geographical location and a rich cultural atmosphere. Once completed, the project will integrate functions such as exhibitions, collection storage, and public services, becoming an important cultural hub that showcases Quanzhou's distinctive character as a hometown of overseas Chinese and connects the emotions of overseas Chinese.

It is understood that the preliminary work of the project has achieved phased results. Next, the construction unit will go all out to advance the project construction and strive for early completion, creating a new cultural landmark for Quanzhou, a famous city on the Maritime Silk Road and a World Heritage site.
