On December 23, accompanied by the low rumble of a rotary drilling rig, the first pile foundation of the Guangdong section of the Nanning-Zhanjiang Expressway was drilled at the main line bridge of the Shiling North Interchange in Lianjiang, Zhanjiang, Guangdong. The project has entered the advance construction stage, marking a new phase of construction for another major expressway corridor between Guangdong and Guangxi.

The first pile is 25 meters long with a diameter of 1.6 meters. At the construction site, the rotary drilling rig operates efficiently, with a maximum drilling diameter of 2.5 meters and a depth of up to 106 meters. Powered by a high-power drive system and a precise control system, it can achieve efficient, high-quality, and low-disturbance operation.
The Guangdong section of the Nanning-Zhanjiang Expressway is about 30 kilometers long, with four lanes in both directions and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The project starts at the provincial boundary in Changshan Town, Lianjiang City, connecting with the Guangxi section of the Nanning-Zhanjiang Expressway, passes through Shijing Town, Lianjiang City, and ends at Shiling Town, Lianjiang City, extending eastward to connect with the Yulin-Zhanjiang Expressway.
Once completed, the project will become the most convenient expressway corridor between Nanning and Zhanjiang. It will not only shorten the travel time between the two cities but also strongly support Zhanjiang's development as a provincial sub-center city and boost the integrated development of western Guangdong and the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration.
