On December 22, at the construction site of the Ganjiang Grand Bridge of the Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway in Zhanggong District, Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, the drill bit of an ultra-large multifunctional rotary drilling rig precisely entered the water and successfully began drilling, marking the official start of construction of the Ganjiang Grand Bridge of the Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway. The bridge is the largest-span bridge on the Jiangxi section of the Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway.

The Ganjiang Grand Bridge of the Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway has a total length of 2,079.02 meters, of which the main bridge is 572.1 meters long, with a maximum span of 300 meters, and is also a key controlling project of the entire line. The bridge is only 63.12 meters away from the existing Ganzhou Ganjiang Grand Bridge of the Nanchang-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway, and the closest distance between the pile caps of the two bridges is only 17.8 meters. After completion, the bridge will run "side by side" with the Ganjiang Grand Bridge of the Nanchang-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway.

The construction of the Ganjiang Grand Bridge of the Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway faces multiple challenges, including high technical standards, a tight construction schedule, and significant safety risks. The combined process of double barges, rotary drilling, crawler cranes, and hydraulic vibratory hammers is adopted for the pile foundation construction of the bridge, which can effectively improve construction efficiency, compress the construction period to the greatest extent, and ensure the construction progress of the entire Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway line.

The pile foundation construction of the bridge must not only overcome complex geological difficulties, but also ensure the operational safety of the adjacent existing Nanchang-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway, while meeting the navigation requirements of the Ganjiang waterway.

The Changsha-Ganzhou High-Speed Railway is a key component of the "Yuxia Corridor," one of the main corridors of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, and is also a key construction project clearly defined in the Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan. After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will further improve the layout of the national high-speed railway network and the comprehensive transportation infrastructure network of the regions along the line, officially ending the history of no high-speed rail access in former Central Soviet Area counties such as Lianhua, Yongxin, Jinggangshan, and Suichuan, and is of great significance for optimizing the allocation of regional transportation resources and the transportation structure, promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and serving the national strategy of the rise of Central China.
