With the successful reception of the 6th shield machine on the upline of the section from the newly added shield launching shaft at Zhangjiang Road Station to the intermediate ventilation shaft at Wangjiabang, and the completion of concrete pouring for the last roof slab of Zone IV of the main structure at Dangui Road Station, the eastern extension project of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 13 has ushered in a "double blessing"—the shield tunnels across the entire line have been successfully holed through, and the main structures of all stations have been officially capped.
This also means that this major construction project, which connects the urban area of Shanghai with Zhangjiang's "heart of science and innovation," has fully completed the main civil engineering works and has officially moved into a new phase of cross-passage construction, ventilation, water supply and power installation, and track laying.

The 4.52-kilometer eastern extension of Line 13, though not long in mileage, is truly an "underground battle." The entire project is laid underground, with the main works comprising 2 shafts, 2 stations, and 3 sections. Since entering the high-intensity construction phase of "six shields advancing in parallel" in August this year, the construction team has faced extremely high technical challenges.
