On December 13, the East No. 2 Runway Project of the Kunming Changshui International Airport Expansion and Renovation Project successfully passed completion acceptance, and construction of the No. 3 Runway has entered the commissioning preparation stage.

　　The scope of this acceptance covered earthwork and foundation treatment works, runway and taxiway pavement works, service road and patrol road pavement works, drainage works, visual aids for navigation works, culvert and tunnel works, etc. Since construction began on September 1, 2023, the project team of China Railway Beijing Engineering Group, in the face of challenges such as a wide construction area, high technical requirements, multi-disciplinary cross-operation, and construction without suspending airport operations, has actively implemented refined, grid-based, and penetrating management, and promoted refined management of the main structures to ensure that project quality remains controllable throughout the process.

　　The completion and commissioning of the East No. 2 Runway of the Kunming Changshui International Airport Expansion and Renovation Project will effectively improve the layout of the airport's runway system and further consolidate Kunming Changshui International Airport's position as an aviation hub in Southwest China.
