On November 29, the large-diameter slurry/earth pressure dual-mode shield tunneling machine "Dianyue," jointly developed and manufactured by Kunming Metro Group, China Railway Tunnel Group, and China Railway Engineering Equipment Group, was successfully launched at the civil construction project of the Kunming Changshui Comprehensive Transportation Hub supporting transport project.

The supporting transport project has a total line length of 4.3 kilometers, including an underground section of approximately 2,880 meters and a shield-driven section of 2,569 meters. An earth pressure/slurry dual-mode shield machine with an outer diameter of 11.6 meters is being used for construction, making it the largest-diameter dual-mode shield machine in Yunnan Province to date.

After launch, the "Dianyue" shield machine will advance southward between taxiways C and D of the airport flight area, successively passing beneath the airport northeast passage, the cargo passage, and the A utility tunnel, crossing above the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, passing beneath the airport fuel pipeline, the apron, and the airport retaining wall, and finally being received at the airport VIP parking area at the T1 end.

As an important supporting project of the Changshui Airport expansion and renovation, the supporting transport project connects Terminals T1 and T2 and serves as the major public transport artery from Terminal T2 to the main urban area in the future. The project is of great significance to building a modern comprehensive transportation hub at Changshui Airport.
