Recently, the Phase II Project of the Longkaikou Hydropower Station Water Resources Comprehensive Utilization Project, designed and constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd., passed the completion acceptance inspection.

The project is located in Longkaikou Town, Heqing County, Yunnan Province. It consists of open water conveyance channels, tunnels, aqueducts, inverted siphons, and a pumping station. The main water conveyance canal has a total length of 63.611 kilometers, passing through 9 village committees in Longkaikou Town, with 15 gravity-flow diversion outlets and 1 pumping station along the route. Construction began in June 2017. After years of tackling difficulties and overcoming multiple challenges such as complex geological conditions, the project was completed on January 27, 2022, and passed the acceptance inspection of all unit works on March 2, 2022.

The implementation of the project has resolved the water supply issues for 21,156 people, 29,829 livestock, and the irrigation of 48,251 mu of farmland. It provides an additional water supply of 21.7009 million cubic meters, including 20.5349 million cubic meters for irrigation and 1.1660 million cubic meters for rural domestic and livestock drinking water. It provides a stable water source for the local cultivation of cash crops such as Orah mandarins and mangoes, supports rural revitalization and high-quality agricultural development, and at the same time improves the regional water resources allocation and strengthens water conservancy support for the Jinsha River Green Economic Corridor.
