Recently, the JH21-09 sea sand mining project in the Shanwei City block of Guangdong Province got underway smoothly, entering a 12-month extended mining phase.

It is reported that the JH21-09 mining area covers 2.3 square kilometers and is divided by depth into two ore bodies, V1 and V2. The V1 ore body has an average thickness of 5.64 meters and consists mainly of ultra-fine sand, with a sand plus gravel content of 73.45% to 93.45%; the V2 ore body has an average thickness of 12.49 meters and consists mainly of medium sand, followed by coarse sand, with a sand plus gravel content of 37.88% to 98.08%. The sea sand resource reserves total 41.781 million cubic meters, with recoverable resources of 35.3165 million cubic meters.

To guard against vessel operation risks and safeguard personnel life safety, equipment and property safety, and the surrounding marine ecological environment, the project team of the 14th Bureau of Sinohydro strictly fulfilled its primary responsibility for work safety and carried out comprehensive preparatory work, organizing management personnel to conduct safety education and training, technical briefings, and "man-machine-material-method-environment" re-verification following the extension of the mining right. At the same time, targeted safety training and technical briefings were conducted for operating vessels such as "Yue Dongguan Chui 1899," "Yue Dongguan Chui 1293," "Shanghang 18," and "Bohui 18"; all crew members completed pre-job education, ensuring they met the conditions for on-duty operations and providing strong support for the orderly progress of the project.

The 14th Bureau of Sinohydro will hold fast to the green bottom line, build a solid safety defense line, and focus on production effectiveness, creating a demonstration model for green building materials development in the Shanwei Honghai Bay area, gradually establishing a sea sand industry "PowerChina standard" covering mining, transportation, and environmental control, and accumulating valuable practical experience for the advancement of similar projects in the future.
