On September 5, an earth pressure balance shield machine with a diameter of 12.49 meters passed acceptance and rolled off the production line at CRCHI's Changsha Second Industrial Park. This equipment is the largest-diameter shield machine exported by CRCHI to Europe, and will participate in the construction of the tunnel project of Section 3 of the Sibiu-Pitesti Expressway in Romania.

It is understood that this is the third shield machine exported by CRCHI to Romania. The equipment needs to traverse challenging strata such as clay, silty clay, and sand-gravel, to efficiently complete the section excavation.

In response to the complex local geological and hydrological conditions, the CRCHI technical team applied internationally leading tunnel boring machine design concepts and specifically developed new technologies such as permanent magnet drive, rapid assembly, and relocation design. The machine's maintenance features visualization and intelligent reminders, greatly improving construction efficiency, safety, and operator comfort. To comply with EU access standards, the equipment integrates systems for gas detection, ventilation, emergency lighting, communications, and power supply that meet European directives, effectively ensuring that the entire machine passed the EU CE safety certification.

At present, CRCHI products have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions, including Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Singapore, Romania, Serbia, Chile, and Saudi Arabia. Going forward, CRCHI will comprehensively deepen cooperation and, with high-quality products and services, continue to provide more Chinese solutions and Chinese wisdom for global infrastructure construction.
