On August 28, the China-ASEAN Nanning Airport Fusui Economic Zone Second Waterworks and Supporting Infrastructure PPP Project, designed by Chengdu Engineering Corporation and constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 14, was successfully completed and began water supply, injecting strong "water momentum" into regional economic and social development.

The Second Waterworks PPP Project is located in Fusui County, east of Chongzuo City, Guangxi. It covers the investment, construction, and operation management of the Economic Zone Second Waterworks, the North District Sewage Treatment Plant, and two municipal roads. It is currently the largest PPP project in Fusui County by investment scale and the largest water project currently under construction in China by PowerChina domestically. The project has a near-term designed treatment capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day, capable of serving 731,500 residents. Its future total scale will reach 400,000 cubic meters per day, meeting the water demand of 1.077 million people and covering the Airport Economic Zone, the southern urban area of Fusui County, and surrounding areas.

To ensure the project achieved its water supply target on schedule, the Sinohydro Bureau 14 project team pursued quality, safety, and progress as an integrated "trinity," efficiently completing key steps such as joint site surveys and equipment acceptance. They achieved successful first-time power transmission from external sources to both plant stations in 35 days and worked in coordination with all participating parties to deliver a high-quality construction outcome.

The project's completion and water supply mark a new stage in Fusui County's water infrastructure development. It will significantly enhance water supply capacity, provide residents with safer and more stable drinking water sources, and offer solid support for industrial upgrading and accelerated urbanization in the Airport Economic Zone, further invigorating regional economic vitality and advancing rural revitalization with tangible results.
