On September 18, the Poziding Tunnel of the Yangjiang–Xinyi Expressway project, invested in and constructed by China Railway Southern Investment and jointly built by China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group and China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group, was successfully holed through along its entire length, marking a breakthrough in the project's construction and laying a solid foundation for the expressway to open to traffic on schedule.

The Yangxin Expressway is part of the "seven horizontal" corridors in the main framework layout of Guangdong Province's expressway network known as "twelve verticals, eight horizontals, two rings and sixteen radials." The route is about 142.91 km long, designed as a six-lane dual carriageway with a speed of 120 km/h, and is scheduled to open to traffic on June 30, 2025. The Poziding Tunnel is located at the junction of Sanjia Town and Shuangjiao Town in Yangchun City. The left tube is 1,594 m long with a maximum burial depth of 297.7 m; the right tube is 1,577 m long with a maximum burial depth of 293.16 m.

The Poziding Tunnel of the Yangxin Expressway was successfully holed through on the 18th.

The tunnel body of the Poziding Tunnel consists mainly of metamorphic sandstone, with fractured rock masses in blocky structure and poor integrity and stability of the surrounding rock, making overall construction difficult and safety risks high. To ensure the successful holing-through of the entire Poziding Tunnel, the construction party, in light of actual site conditions, jointly optimized the construction plan, tightened on-site safety control and resource allocation, reasonably divided construction and production responsibility zones, and implemented a shift system with managers stationed on the front line of construction and production, closely monitoring on-site progress and effectively promoting smooth construction and production.

During tunnel construction, the construction team also adopted technologies and processes such as shaped curved steel formwork plus end waterstop shaped clamping formwork, automatic pouring system with compartmentalized pouring, and a void-prevention system, making every effort to ensure the progress and quality of tunnel construction and ultimately achieving the successful holing-through of the Poziding Tunnel 12 days ahead of schedule.

After the Yangxin Expressway is completed and opened to traffic, it will be of great significance for improving Guangdong Province's expressway network, enhancing the radiating and driving role of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area in western Guangdong, improving regional transportation conditions, and promoting coordinated economic development along the route.
