Recently, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law held a Teachers' Day symposium themed "Carry Forward the Educator's Spirit, Shoulder the Mission of Building a Strong Nation."

　　Ge Weihua, Party Secretary of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, stated that the educator's spirit points the way forward for building a high-quality teaching workforce in the new era and provides a fundamental guide, injecting strong spiritual motivation for the broad ranks of teachers to devote themselves to teaching and to foster virtue through education. Teachers are the foundation of education and the source of its flourishing; all teachers should set the aspiration and ambition of "devoting themselves to teaching and strengthening the nation through my efforts," strive to practice the shared value pursuits of the teaching community, uphold fostering virtue through education, and be inheritors of noble teaching ethics; persist in applying what they learn, and be exemplars of teaching and educating people; and remain dedicated to their posts, and be practitioners of willing dedication.

　　Ge Weihua emphasized that Party organizations at all levels of the university must care for and support teachers, creating a favorable atmosphere in which teachers enjoy teaching, are good at teaching, and devote themselves to educating people. All faculty and staff should consciously take educators as role models, boldly explore based on their own positions, give play to their strengths, and make achievements, so as to realize mutual promotion and a virtuous cycle between their own development and the university's development, and strive to build a first-class application-oriented university with distinctive political science and law characteristics in all respects.
